Welcome!

Special Degree Programs is part of the College of Arts and Science at the University of Missouri and is comprised of four distinct degree programs: General Studies, Interdisciplinary Studies, International Studies, and International Business. In addition, minors are offered through the Special Degree Programs affliates of Black Studies, East Asian Studies, Film Studies, Latin American Studies, Peace Studies, South Asian Studies, and Women's and Gender Studies.

All Special Degree Programs majors and minors are characterized by a high level of flexibility, which allows students to "think outside the box" of a traditional degree program – one based in an academic department like Geological Sciences, History, or Music – to develop a multidisciplinary and structured plan of study unique to their individual academic and career goals. Students in Special Degree Programs must have a great deal of motivation and independence.

NOTICE: We have MOVED!

The office for General Studies and International Studies has moved from 210 Switzler Hall to RM 33 Heinkel Building. Interdisciplinary Studies remains in the Student Success Center.
